Everything’s Perfect

Everything’s Perfect was a collaborative show featuring work from Kayle Hatfield and Jenna Hoffart. They were both selected to be Residents at Northeast Sculpture Gallery Factory during the summer of 2023. The title ironically summarizes the theme of the collection of sculptures and paintings included in this show.

In Jenna’s paintings, there was reflection on her cat, Ruby, who had sadly passed away during Jenna’s time in Minneapolis. While Kayle’s sculptures are a collection of oddities that are recognizable, but distorted objects. Together the paintings and sculptures suggest an “it is what it is” attitude. Whether it be the process it took to create something or a real-life situation, we both found ourselves back at the same thought: it is what it is. We can’t change it, so we’ll accept it.
